Actor-composer Vijay Antony, who is gearing up for the release of his Shakthi Thirumagan on September 19, shared that actor Vijay has good music taste and that some of his choices have paid rich dividends in their collaboration.

In an interview with the YouTuber Maathevan, Vijay Antony said that it was Vijay who suggested the names of Shankar Mahadevan and Suchitra for 'Naan Adicha Thaangamaata' and 'Chinna Thamarai', respectively, in Vettaikaaran (2009). "Vijay follows the music scene sincerely. He assembled the team he needed for Vettaikaaran and Velayudham. Also, I was his pick for both films, and not the producer or director's choice."

Vijay Antony made his debut as a composer in Sukran (2005), the film in which Vijay plays an extended cameo as a lawyer. The album of the film became a big hit with 'Suppose Unnai' emerging as one of the massive chartbusters of the year. He went on to collaborate with the actor in Vettaikaaran (2009) and Velayudham (2011).

Vijay Antony's upcoming film with Arun Prabu is his 25th feature as an actor. The film is billed as a neo-political thriller.

Shakthi Thirumagan, which is dubbed in Telugu as Bhadrakali, will release alongside Dhandakaaranyam and Kiss.
