Dinesh and Kalaiyarasan will go to any extent to protect their sacred forest and the tribal people, as seen in the trailer for Thandakaaranyam. The trailer for the Athiyan Aathirai directorial was unveiled by the makers on Sunday.

Kalaiyarasan becomes the first tribal villager to get an army job, and the community is happy to send him for the same. However, only when he joins the training does he realise that those in power are trying to endanger their forest. Although initially hesitant, he fights back, along with Dinesh, a leader of the tribal community. Together, they're ready to sacrifice even their lives for their forest and their people. The trailer promises an intense drama film with a sprinkle of romance and action.

The ensemble cast of Thandakaaranyam features Riythvika, Vinsu Sam, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Muthukumar, Aruldoss, Saranya Ravichandran and Bala Saravanan.

Behind the camera, Justin Prabhakaran scores the music, with lyrics penned by Umadevi and Thanikodi. Pratheep Kaliraja serves as the cinematographer, Selva RK handles editing, and T Ramalingam is in charge of art direction. Stunts are choreographed by Stunner Sam and AS Sudeshkumar.

Athiyan Athirai, who previously collaborated with Dinesh on Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu, is once again helming this project. The film is produced by Pa Ranjith under his Neelam Productions banner in association with Learn and Teach Productions. S Sai Devanand and S Sai Venkateswaran also serve as producers, while Pa Saravanan, Manind Bedi and PJ Prakash are attached as executive producers.

Thandakaaranyam is slated to hit theatres on September 19 alongside Kavin's Kiss.
