We had reported on Thursday about the official announcement of Kumki 2, the sequel to the much-acclaimed Kumki (2012), starring Vikram Prabhu in the lead in his debut, and Lakshmi Menon. A glimpse video confirmed that Prabu Solomon is returning to direct the second part with Arjun Das playing the lead. Shrita Rao is also set to star in the film.

The makers have now released a first look poster with a few children playing with an elephant. Going by the visuals and the poster, it looks like the film will once again revolve around an elephant and how it has a strong connection with the local villagers. Further details regarding extended cast members and a release date are yet to be confirmed by the makers.

With Nivas K Prasanna composing the music for the film, from lyrics by Mohan Rajan and Prabu Solomon, the technical crew of the film includes M Sukumar as the director of photography, Buvan as the editor, Vijay Thennarasu as the art director, and Stun Shiva as the stunt choreographer.

Kumki 2 will be produced by Dhaval Gada, with Jayantilal Gada as the presenter. Pen Marudhar Cine Entertainments and Pen Studios are the banners backing the film.
