We had previously reported that actor-director Parthiban will be playing a cameo in Dhanush's much-anticipated film Idli Kadai. The makers have now confirmed the same by revealing a character poster of Parthiban from the upcoming film where he plays a police officer by the name: R Arivu.

In August, Parthiban shared a photo with Dhanush after completing dubbing for his portions in the film and expressed his happiness on being able to work with the actor after two missed opportunities.

"After missing out on acting in Aadukalam, a film that deserved another National Award, and after Soodhadi, which we began together but didn’t take off, it felt like things had come full circle when he personally invited me to play a small honorary role in Idli Kadai. I accepted without hesitation," he said, praising Dhanush for being a multi-talented artist and a pan-Indian star who "sparkled" in the film which he witnessed first hand.

Earlier, posters of Sathyaraj, Arun Vijay and Rajkiran were shared. While Arun Vijay will be playing Ashwin in the film, Sathyaraj will take on the role of Vishnu Vardhan, which many speculate to be Arun Vijay's father character. Rajkiran will be portraying Sivanesan in Idli Kadai, a key role linked to the beginning of Dhanush's Sivanesan Idli Kadai.

Samuthirakani and Nithya Menen's character posters along with Dhanush's are yet to be unveiled by the makers.

Idli Kadai is set to release in theatres on October 1. The film is produced by Akash Bhaskaran through his Dawn Pictures banner and Dhanush through his Wunderbar Pictures banner. Inban Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu's Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, is set to make his debut as a film distributor via this film.
