The makers of actor Vikram's next film have announced that debutant director Bodi Rajkumar will helm the film. Tentatively titled Chiyaan 63, the film will be backed by Shanthi Talkies.
Chiyaan 63 was announced in December 2024, with Madonne Ashwin attached to direct. Now, Bodi Rajkumar will be making his feature directorial debut with Chiyaan 63. He has previously directed short films like Amen and Lo and Behold. The former won the Best Short Film award at the Independent Film Festival of Chennai 2021 and the Best Indie Short award at the Venice Shorts festival in 2021.
Arun Viswa is producing the film for Shanthi Talkies, in their third production venture. They were previously behind Sri Ganesh's 3 BHK, which starred Siddharth, Sarathkumar, Devayani, Meetha Raghunath, and Chaithra Achar. Their first production was Madonne Ashwin's Maaveeran, headlined by Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar.
Vikram was previously seen in SU Arun Kumar's Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2. The thriller followed a man trying to secure his family, after being caught in the midst of a power struggle. The film was released on March 27.
