Early on Saturday, it was reported that music composer Harris Jayaraj was kidnapped. While it did seem like a PR move for a film, it was later revealed that it indeed was, for the title reveal of the film Kadhal Reset Repeat. The film marks the lead acting debuts of Madumkesh and Jiya Shankar.

While Madumkesh was previously seen in Adiyae, Jiya has starred in the Tamil and Telugu films, Kanavu Variyam and Hyderabad Love Story, respectively. Kadhal Reset Repeat, which is set to be helmed by AL Vijay, will mark the full-fledged debut of the two actors.

The title announcement teaser shows Harris Jayaraj, the film's music composer, being kidnapped by lead actor Madumkesh and supporting actor MS Bhaskar. When Harris asks about his whereabouts, he notices another girl also kidnapped. When asked, Madumkesh says it's for love, and we're introduced to Jiya Shankar, who faints on seeing Harris. Harris is then asked to compose music for the film, following which he reveals the film's title.

A Mahadev has written the screenplay for Kadhal Reset Repeat alongside Vijay. The film is backed by D Studios and Denvi Productions and co-produced by Prabha Premkumar. Arjun Ashokan, Jayaprakash, and Viji Chandrashekar are also a part of the film's cast.

On the technical front, the film will feature cinematography by Arvind Krishna and editing by Anthony. While the title hints at a love story, genre and plot details remain under wraps. A release date for the film is also yet to be announced.

Director Vijay last helmed Mission: Chapter 1. He is the creative producer for The Madras Mystery: Fall of a Superstar, starring Nazriya Nazim and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj in lead roles. He is known for films such as Madrasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal, Thalaivaa, and Saivam, among others.
