The upcoming collaboration between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan is a project that has generated curiosity and attention amongst fans of the actors and Tamil cinema. While further updates hasn't been revealed, several people from the Tamil film industry have been asked about the project.

At a recent event, actor Shruti Haasan was asked about the project, while she was on stage, with Soundarya Rajinikanth, for which Shruti replied, "We are also waiting like you."

Soundarya Rajinikanth added, "It would be appropriate if our fathers (Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan) tell you all about the film. But Appa (Rajinikanth) will act in a film that is backed by Kamal uncle's banner. But the film's story is a work in progress, so sollavendiya nerathula thalaivar correct ah solluvaru (thalaivar will reveal the details at the right time)."

Last seen together in IV Sasi's Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, have starred together in many films, early in their careers, with Rajinikanth making his acting debut as an antagonist, in K Balachandar's Apoorva Ragangal, which starred Kamal Haasan as the lead character.
