Mamitha Baiju has made her debut with Dude, director Keerthiswaran's romantic comedy that also stars Pradeep Ranganathan. According to speculation, the actor's remuneration for a film is 15 crore now following her Tamil debut. However, Mamitha has denied it, saying that it is the biggest rumour she hears about herself. In a recent conversation with Filmibeat Malayalam, she said, "People come up with such speculation on a whim, thinking 'Mamitha must be earning 15 crore' without any basis to it." The actor also addressed the negative comments she received following the reports about her remuneration. She said, "People say, 'Who is she to seek such a high payment for a film?' Now, I have to bear the brunt of a random number that they put, saying it is my salary."

Mamitha's latest film Dude has grossed more than 45 crore over the first two days of its release, announced its producer Mythri Movie Makers the other day. The film follows cousins (Mamitha and Pradeep) who open a new event-planning venture, only for one of them to get close to the other and fall in love." The film also stars Sarathkumar, Rohini, Neha Shetty, and Hridhu Haroon, among others.
