Praising Pradeep Ranganathan over his recent release, Dude, filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu said he is proud of his friend and called the former 'a star'.
In his X post, Ashwath noted that the numbers his Dragon collaborator is bringing in "are the mere reflection of the credibility he has built to bring the audience to see him in theatres."
The production company behind Dude, Mythri Movie Makers, announced on Sunday that the movie has collected over Rs 45 crores worldwide in just two days of theatrical run. According to Sacnilk.com, the film has grossed Rs 19.75 crore in India. Dude stars Pradeep Ranganathan alongside Mamitha Baiju, Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, and Aishwarya Sharma.
Directed by newcomer Keerthiswaran and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, the film features music composed by Sai Abhyankkar, marking his debut in Tamil cinema.
