Diwali is set to see a major box office clash, with many big films releasing in the festival season. One of these is Mari Selvaraj's sports film Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran. The other day, the film's producers Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios released its trailer, building further anticipation. Sharing the Bison trailer on X, Mari Selvaraj's frequent collaborator, composer Santhosh Narayanan praised its technical work. "Great visuals, production values, music and performances in this trailer. Bison could potentially be a benchmark sports film," wrote the composer, who worked on Mari's previous films Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, and Vaazhai. He added, "Jeichidu Kabilaaaa," referring to Arya's character in Sarpatta Parambarai, another sports film, for which he scored music.

Bison stars Dhruv Vikram as a kabaddi player, and its story is based on real-life player Manathi Ganesan's life. The Bison trailer suggests that the film will be an underdog rising story. Written by Mari Selvaraj himself, the film also stars Lal, Rajisha Vijayan, Pasupathy, Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhan, Ameer, and Anurag Arora, among others. Mari has also written the lyrics for the songs in the film, which has music by Nivas K Prasanna. On the technical front, it also has cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, editing by Sakthi Thiru, and action by Dhilip Subbarayan.

Bison is slated for an October 17 release in theatres alongside Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju.
