Earlier, we reported about Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan reuniting for a film after 1979's Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum. There has been much speculation about who the director of the film will be. Pradeep Ranganathan has been one of the names often mentioned as a speculated director for the film. While Pradeep recently refuted the rumour in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he was asked about it in a press meet held earlier today for his upcoming film Dude. Addressing a question on whether he has a story if he were to get an opportunity to direct the two legends, Pradeep said that he does not have one. The filmmaker-actor added that while he has been dreaming of something like this since childhood, he is not ready for it should it become real all of a sudden.

Earlier, Pradeep said that he is paying attention to his acting career right now while addressing the aforesaid rumour. However, he also said "I cannot talk much about it," fuelling further conjecture about his potential involvement in the project. According to reports, it is anticipated that the film reuniting Rajinikanth and Kamal will be a gangster film.

Meanwhile, Pradeep is awaiting the Diwali release of Dude, also starring Mamitha Baiju and directed by Keerthiswaran. The film is slated for an October 17 release in theatres, alongside Mari Selvaraj-Dhruv Vikram's Bison.
