As actor Pooja Hegde celebrates her 35th birthday on Monday, the makers of Vijay-H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan dropped her character still and her name, Kayal.

Jana Nayagan will be her second collaboration with Vijay after Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast (2022). The last update from the filmmakers was the announcement regarding the film's release.

With nothing much known about the plot, Vijay is set to play a cop in the film for the fourth time after Pokkiri (2007), Jilla (2014), and Theri (2016). However, H Vinoth had earlier said the film will have the must-haves of a Vijay film. Jana Nayagan is laden with a lot of excitement as the film will be Vijay's last before his complete political plunge.

Jana Nayagan also stars Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju, and Narain. The film reunites Vijay with Prakash Raj after Varisu and Gautham Vasudev Menon after Leo.

Jana Nayagan is produced by Venkat K Narayana and co-produced by Lohith N K and Jagadish Palanisamy. The film will be released in theatres on January 9, 2026, for the Pongal festival season.
