As we reported earlier, Kannada filmmaker and actor Duniya Vijay is all set to be seen as an antagonist in Sundar C's Mookuthi Amman 2, headlined by Nayanthara. Recently, the actor shared a video on X from the film's set to mark the conclusion of the shoot for his portions in the film. Thanking Sundar C in the caption, Vijay shared the video, which featured him bidding goodbye to the filmmaker as well as the other members of the crew.

Apart from Nayanthara and Vijay, the ensemble cast of Mookuthi Amman 2 comprises Regina Cassandra, Suneel, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, Ineya, Garuda Raam, Singampuli, Vichu Vishwanath, Ajay Ghosh, and Myna Nandhini, among others.

Recently, for Dussera, the makers unveiled the first-look poster of the film. In the poster, Nayanthara is back as the Goddess from Mookuthi Amman (2020), dressed with grandeur in a green silk saree and bejewelled with gold and diamonds. Holding the trident, however, she looks equally divine as well as disturbed, as she faces down.

Sundar C's frequent collaborator, Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi, is all set to compose for the sequel. Venkat Raghavan, who has worked as a screenplay and dialogue writer with Sundar C in many films, including Madha Gaja Raja, is performing the same function in this film, in addition to acting. Gopi Amarnath, who has previously cranked the camera for Sundar C's Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru and Aambala, is the cinematographer of Mookuthi Amman 2.

The upcoming film is backed by Ishari Ganesh of Vels Films International and will also be co-produced by Sundar C-Khushbu Sundar's Avni Cinemax Pvt Limited, Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures, and Ivy Entertainment.

The original Mookuthi Amman was helmed and headlined by RJ Balaji and also starred Nayanthara and Urvashi in lead roles. Released directly on Disney+ Hotstar, the film garnered widespread critical and commercial success.
