A day after dropping the title and first look poster of Vemal's next, Mahasenha Volume - 1, the makers have released some BTS stills from the movie on Sunday.
The stills featured the lead Vemal, actors John Vijay, Yogi Babu, and a set of warriors from the medieval age. However, there is no clarity on whether this is a movie of contemporary times or a period drama.
The film is directed by Dhinesh Kalaiselvan, who has previously made the crime thriller Raakadhan (2023), starring himself, Vamsi Krishna, and Riyaz Khan, among others.
The director, in an exclusive conversation with CE, had revealed that the film will be a multi-part project with four volumes, out of which Vemal will only be seen in the first movie. The director called it a hyperlink film with three stories - one village story, a group of trekkers from a college, and one involving a mafia team.
The first part also stars Yogi Babu in a comedy track, Kabir Duhan Singh of Vedalam and Marco fame, and John Vijay as a forest officer. Production on the film has been wrapped, and the makers plan to release it theatrically in November this year.
On the technical front, Mahasenha Volume - 1 has music by A Praveen Kumar and SN Aruna Giri, cinematography by Manas Babhu DR, editing by Nagooran Ramachandran, and action choreography by Ram Kumar. Produced by DR Selvaraju under the Marudham Productions banner, the film is set to release in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.
