Actor Suriya's 2014 film Anjaan, directed by N Lingusamy, will get a re-edit and re-release soon, according to an announcement from the director's production and distribution banner, Thirrupathi Brothers.

Upon its release over a decade ago, Anjaan was panned by the critics for its weak screenplay, although Lingusamy's direction was praised for its slickness. The film, however, became a comfort watch for many on television over the years.

Anjaan follows Krishna (Suriya), coming to Mumbai in search of his long-separated brother Raju Bhai (also Suriya), a dread don. He soon finds himself in trouble because he resembles his brother closely. But Krishna has a surprise for Raju's enemies.

What the re-edit the makers are referring to is not yet clear.

The film features Samantha in the female lead role, alongside Vidyut Jammwal, Manoj Bajpayee, and Dalip Tahil in key roles.

Produced by Thirrupathi Brothers, the film's technical crew was no less star-studded as it had Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer, Santosh Sivan as cinematographer, and Anthony as editor.
