Sathyaraj has revealed his character in the upcoming biopic, GDN, while speaking about the naming of the longest flyover in Tamil Nadu. Spanning 10 km, the flyover is named The GD Naidu flyover, and is located in Coimbatore.

Sathyaraj revealed that he will be playing Ramiah Pillai, an important role in GDN, in a video where he conveyed his gratitude for the naming of the flyover. Based on the life of inventor GD Naidu, the film will focus on his life. R Madhavan is essaying the titular role of GD Naidu. GDN will mark his second biopic after Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, where he played scientist Nambi Narayanan. Madhavan also directed Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

GDN is written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramkumar, whose recent directorial was Oho Enthan Baby. The cast of the film also includes Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, and Yogi Babu.

Music for GDN is composed by Govind Vasantha, who has composed for films like 96 and Meiyazhagan. Madhavan, Sarita Madhavan, Varghese Moolan, and Vijay Moolan are producing the film. Varghese Moolan Pictures, Tricolour Pictures, and Mediamax Productions are the banners backing the film.
