Bigg Boss Tamil 9, hosted by Vijay Sethupathi for the second consecutive time, kicked off on Sunday with a grand launch that ran for nearly four hours. This season features 20 contestants from diverse age groups, backgrounds, and genders, with plenty of twists and surprises in store to keep the game exciting.

The third contestant who was introduced, after Dr Diwakar and Aurora Sinclair, was FJ, who is popularly known from the Prime Video series Suzhal season 1. However, his introductory AV revealed that he is not just an actor and that there are more facets to him.

In the AV, FJ said that he made an entry into cinema due to his passion for music and particularly beatboxing. A fan of popular rapper and music composer Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi, FJ eventually joined Aadhi's band and started beatboxing for his compositions. It was only after this that he got an opportunity to star alongside Gopika Ramesh in Suzhal, which became his claim to fame. He further added that he entered the Bigg Boss house to cement his passion for cinema.

Suzhal: The Vortex is an Indian Tamil-language crime suspense thriller television series created by the director duo, Pushkar–Gayathri. Bramma and Anucharan Murugaiyan directed the first season of the series. Apart from playing Gopika's pair, FJ also played Sriya Reddy's son, Adhisayam, in the series.

The other 19 contestants joining this season include Dr Diwakar, Aurora Sinclair, VJ Paaru, Tushaar, Kani Thiru, Sabarinathan, Pravin Gandhi, Kemy, Aadhirai, Ramya Joo, Gana Vinoth, Viyana, Praveen Raj Dev, Subiksha Kumar, Apsara CJ, Vikkals Vikram, Nandhini R, Kamrudin, and Kalaiyarasan.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9 will run for the next 106 days, with Vijay Sethupathi returning to host the weekend episodes. The show is available for 24-hour live streaming on JioHotstar.
