Actor Jiiva's 45th film with director Nithish Sahadev of Falimy-fame has now been titled Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil. The first look of the film has been released on Wednesday for the occasion of Ayudha Pooja which showed Jiiva being held by a group of people amid a festive set-up, hinting at yet another family drama.
Apart from Jiiva, Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil also has Prathana Nathan and Thambi Ramaiah in the cast. Other actors who are part of the cast and plot details are yet to be announced.
The upcoming film, which was announced in May, wrapped shooting in July and is currently in the post production stage.
On the technical team, the film has music by Vishnu Vijay, cinematography by Bablu Aju and editing by Arjune Babu. Besides directing, Nithish has also written the story along with Sanjo Joseph and Anuraj OB. Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil is produced by Kannan Ravi and co-produced by Deepak Ravi.
Nithish Sahadev made his directorial debut with the 2023 comedy drama Falimy. The film starred Basil Joseph, Jagadish, Manju Pillai, and Sandeep Pradeep as a dysfunctional family who goes to Varanasi on a pilgrimage. The comedic hurdles they face and the conflicts they resolve on the way make up the rest of the film.
Jiiva was last seen in Pa Vijay's Aghathiyaa. Up next, he will once again play the lead in director KG Balasubramani's upcoming film after their critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller Black (2024). The actor is also set to reunite with his Siva Manasula Sakthi director, M Rajesh, for a new film. The film will have music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja also joining hands with the lead actor and filmmaker.
