Earlier today, reporters caught up with Rajinikanth, as he was heading to Goa for the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). When asked about the production of Jailer 2, the actor said that it is going really well and that some more portions are pending for the film. That actor expressed his pride in receiving the recognition at IFFI for his completion of 50 years in the film industry. "I feel honoured to receive the recognition," Rajinikanth said. IFFI will conclude on November 28, Friday, and the Baashha star will be present there to receive the festival's recognition for him. Recently, Rajinikanth wrapped his Goa portions for the sequel to Jailer.

Coming back to Jailer 2, there is strong speculation among film circles that Vijay Sethupathi has joined the ambitious sequel to Rajinikanth's 2023 film. It reunites Rajinikanth with his Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar and producer Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures. The returning cast also includes Ramya Krishnan and Shivarajkumar. Meanwhile, the new additions to the Jailer 2 cast are Meghana Raj Sarja and Angamaly Diaries star Anna Raajan. Earlier, Rajinikanth confirmed that the Jailer sequel would release theatrically on June 12 next year.
