It's been a long wait of three years, and Stranger Things fans will finally be able to catch the final season, albeit in three parts. While the lead cast members, joined with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) are determined to defeat Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) with all their might in one final showdown. With just a few days go for its premiere on Netflix, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have asked fans to brace themselves for yet another heartbreaking death this season which they say, will be the "most shocking" of any season.

In a recent conversation with The Times, the Duffer brothers said, "I would say season five is not as brutal as season four, but it features the most shocking death of any season." Previously, the murders of Bob Newby, played by Sean Astin and Eddie Munson, portrayed by Joseph Quinn, had left fans devastated, but an upcoming death looms large, with the creators hinted at it being more gruesome than the previous ones. However, they revealed that the upcoming season won't be as violent as its predecessor which saw Vecna on a killing spree across Hawkins.

"Every character's ending needed to feel right. That was more important than providing the fans with the ending they're hoping for," Matt Duffer said.

The new season's trailer, which was unveiled recently, starts right where the fourth season ended, with Hawkins facing its most dangerous foe, Vecna. It opens with Vecna finally beginning his takeover of the real world, after the barrier between the Upside Down and the real world was broken. With Queen's 'Who Wants To Live Forever' playing in the background, the trailer shows the gang including Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers listening to Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler's plan to end Vecna. The trailer also shows a glimpse of the all out war against Vecna, including Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven/Jane Hopper fighting him, and the army of Demogorgons attacking the soldiers in the real world.

The upcoming season will see the return of beloved characters played by including David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay) along with the main antagonist Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna.

As reported earlier, Volume 1 hits Netflix on November 26, while the second Volume releases on December 25. The finale episode is slated for the New Year's eve. It will be releasing in theatres simultaneously with its streaming premiere
