Kamal Haasan's RKFI warns people against trusting fake casting agents for their films

This is the second time this year that Kamal Haasan's RKFI has had to put out a clarification to caution the public about fake casting calls

Over the last few days, many noted celebrities and production houses had warned public to not trust fraudulent casting agents and impersonators, reaching out to aspiring actors to cast them in their films. The latest to join them is Kamal Haasan's established production house Raaj Kamal Films International who cautioned users about any e-mails, messages and social media posts sent under their name.

In an X post, they clarified and asserted that they have not hired any casting agents for any of their films. RKFI further warned that it would initiate legal action if any party was found falsely using its name in any unauthorised manner.

This is the second time this year that the production house has had to put out a clarification to caution the public about fake casting calls.

Earlier in August, Pa Ranjith's Neelam production house urged actors to be careful of fake calls and advised against trusting them. Prince Pictures had also issued a cautionary notice, warning actors about fraudsters who were claiming to offer acting roles in their upcoming film Sardar 2 for money or other favours.

Prior to that, Sibi Sathyaraj had alerted the general public about a fake casting call put out in his name on social media. The actor had issued a clarification stating that he had nothing to do with either the person who had put it out or with the project mentioned in it.

Recently, actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Shriya Saran had posted a note on their social media handles, calling out their impersonators for posing them and messaging people of fake casting opportunities and photoshoots. While Aditi said stated that all information regarding her work goes through her team and clearly stated that the person isn't her, Shriya, in a stern message, hit back at the person and asked him to stop writing to people and wasting time.

Dhanush's manager and Wunderbar Films' director Sreyas issued similar statements twice - once in February, and another one recently following a controversy.
