The makers of Mahasenha Volume - 1, starring Vemal, announced that the film will release in theatres on December 12.

The film, written and directed by Dhinesh Kalaiselvan, is also releasing in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Dhinesh previously made the crime thriller Raakadhan (2023), starring himself, Vamsi Krishna, and Riyaz Khan, among others.

Though nothing much is known about the plot of the film, some of the BTS stills suggest that the story may revolve around different time periods.

The director, in an exclusive conversation with CE, had revealed that the film will be a multi-part project with four volumes, out of which Vemal will only be seen in the first movie. The director called it a hyperlink film with three stories - one village story, a group of trekkers from a college, and one involving a mafia team.

The first part also stars Yogi Babu in a comedy track, Kabir Duhan Singh of Vedalam and Marco fame, and John Vijay as a forest officer. Production is complete, and the makers plan a theatrical release in December.

On the technical front, Mahasenha Volume - 1 has music by A Praveen Kumar and SN Aruna Giri, cinematography by Manas Babhu DR, editing by Nagooran Ramachandran, and action choreography by Ram Kumar. Produced by DR Selvaraju under the Marudham Productions banner.
