Clearing the air around recent controversies surrounding casting couch allegations involving Dhanush's manager's name and contact, TV actor Manya Anand and Sreyas have issued clarifications on their social media handles.

Dhanush's manager Sreyas shared a statement reiterating that any casting calls, messages and offers made under his name and Wunderbar Films are "completely fake and baseless". He mentioned two mobile numbers and warned people to stay vigilant of them as they were being misused with his pictures. "A formal complaint has been lodged with the police authorities in connection with this issue," he added.

The clarification comes a few days after TV actor Manya Anand noted that Dhanush's name was being misused by a person impersonating to be Sreyas. She claimed that the said impersonator was asking the actor for a 'commitment' in exchange for a role in Dhanush's film. The video footage of her interview, which were being widely circulated on social media, sparked heated debate and discussions on casting couch in the industry.

Manya recently shared a video noting that her statements were being taken out of context and are circulated her accusations on Dhanush. She said the original footage of her interview with a Tamil channel was being cut and reshared by a few YouTube channels as an "accusatory video" to "increase their viewership and subscribers." "That clip was mainly aimed at creating an awareness to public about the misuse and impersonation. I had even posted an Instagram story regarding the same, the fake news that's beng spread under my name. Even then I see many people discussing the issue unnecessarily. Please refer to my original interview and footage to understand the issue," she added.

The actor further shared that she feels "devastated" that her footage was being edited to defame a person and asserted that headlines of her "accusing" Dhanush are completely false.
