Actor Shriya Saran has called out a person for impersonating her and writing to people in her name. In an angry Instagram post, she hit back at the said person with a screenshot of their number and account, urging fans and friends from the film fraternity to not believe their words.

She wrote, "Whoever this idiot is. Please stop writing to people and wasting time! Unfortunately this is weird. I feel bad for wasting people time. This is not me! Not my number!"

She further added, "The only good thing is, this crapy person is reaching out to people I admire and would love to work with! Very strange! Why would you waste your time to do this? Go get a life, not someone’s impersonator."

Earlier, Aditi Rao Hydari had also similarly warned fans of her WhatsApp impersonator. "Someone has been pretending to be me on WhatsApp, using my pictures and messaging photographers about ‘photoshoots’. It isn't me. I don't reach out like this," she wrote on her social media handles.

On the work front, Shriya Saran was last seen in Teja Sajja's Mirai. In Tamil, she was seen shaking a leg with actor Metro Shirish in the song 'Kanaga' from his upcoming film Non Violence. The film, which also stars Bobby Simha in the lead, is helmed by Ananda Krishnan, who is known for directing Metro (2016) and Kodiyil Oruvan (2021).

Backed by Lekha of AK Pictures, Non Violence also stars Aditi Balan, Adithya Kathir and Garuda Ram in supporting roles. The film is set in Madurai in the 90s and will reportedly revolve around events occurring inside the premises of a prison in the city during the period.
