Vishal's Magudam completes filming

Magudam is Vishal's debut directorial, which features music by GV Prakash Kumar

Vishal's debut directorial, Magudam, has completed filming after 17 days of shooting the climax, announced the makers through a press release. While a release date is yet to be announced, the film is set to have a 2026 release.

Through the press note, the makers, announced, "And it's a wrap for the intense, extensive, and monumental climax schedule of Vishal's Magudam, a cinema spectacle, that unfolded over 17 consecutive days of rigorous shoot of 6 am to 6 pm (12 hours) filming. The epic sequence resonating much like a war featuring hundreds of artists and totality of 800 crew members including top computer graphics team and technicians stands as a testament to the film's scale, ambition, and artistry."

The note also went on to detail on the meticulousness of the stunt choreography that is handled by Dhilip Subbarayan. The film will also release in Telugu under the title Makutam.

Ravi Arasu was initially the director for Magudam, and later stepped away due to unknown reasons. He is now credited with the story for the film.

Vishal also stars as the lead in Magudam which also features Dushara Vijayan, Anjali, and Yogi Babu.

GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for the film. Pon Parthiban is writing the dialogues along with Anandh Kumaresan writing the dialogues in Tamil, and Rajesh A Moorthy writing the dialogues in Telugu. The crew of the film includes Richard M Nathan as the director of photographer, NB Srikanth as the editor, and G Durairaj as the art director.

RB Choudary is producing the film under his Super Good Films banner.
