With just a day to go for the release of Kaantha, Dulquer Salmaan's much anticipated period drama, the actor has been on a promotional marathon, talking about the film, his role and experience working in the film along with his co-stars Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani and Bhagyashri Borse. In a recent interview with Gobinath, the Lucky Baskhar actor said Ajith Kumar's work on the racing front inspires him. "I have seen many clips of Ajith sir racing on tracks, but it is not something I follow. But he was a big inspiration to me. He has always been inclined to the racing side. I remember the days he was in F3 and F4. I feel like he has taken his bike to travel all over the world. I love the fact that he is pursuing his passion now," he said.
Kaantha marks a comeback into Tamil cinema for Dulquer after 2022's Hey Sinamika. It also stars Ravindra Vijay, Nizhalgal Ravi, Bagavathi Perumal and Bijesh Nagesh. It is jointly produced by Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan under their Spirit Media and Wayfarer Films banners respectively.
The film's technical team includes cinematographer Dani Sanchez Lopez, editor Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez, composer Jhanu Chanthar, and art director Ramalingam. Thamizh Prabha serves as its additional dialogue writer and story consultant, as well as additional screenwriter along with Sri Harsha Rameshwaram.
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar, who was last seen in Magizh Thirumeni's Vidaamuyarchi and Adhik Ravichandran's Good Bad Ugly this year, will be reuniting with Adhik once again for AK64. On the racing front, his team Ajith Kumar Racing participated in 24H Middle East Trophy in Dubai; 24H European Series in Mugello, Spa-Francorchamps, Misano, Paul Richard and Barcelona; Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe in Portimao, Estoril, Valencia, and Barcelona; GT4 European Series in Paul Ricard, Zandvoort, Spa, Misano, Nürburgring and Barcelona---26 races across two continents and four series this year.
