The other day, we reported about Thulluvadho Ilamai actor Abhinay's passing following a prolonged battle with a liver-related health issue. The actor recently sought financial help to raise the funds necessary for his treatment, and many celebrities, including Dhanush and KPY Bala stepped up. In fact, such struggles were not new for Abhinay. In a recent interview with Cineulagam, Abhinay revealed that the commercial performance of Thulluvadho Ilamai had a negative impact on his career. "That film became a flop, and after its release, all the movies for which I received advance payment drew back," the actor said.
He also revealed that those associated with the films in question did not ask him for the advance payments they made to him but, at the same time, said that they would call him later about the status of the films, only to never call him again. "There was plenty of politics at the time," the actor disclosed.
Abhinay played a close friend of Dhanush's character in Thulluvadho Ilamai, which hit theatres in 2002. Kasthuri Raja directed the film, starring Dhanush and Abhinay in their acting debuts. Dhanush's actor-filmmaker brother Selvaraghavan wrote the story and screenplay for the film.
