Actor Abhinay, known for Thulluvadho Ilamai, passes away

Abhinay, who made his acting debut with an important role in Dhanush's 2002 film Thulluvadho Ilamai, passed away earlier today, CE can confirm. The actor had been experiencing a severe liver-related issue over the last few years. He was 44 at the time of death. Reportedly, Abhinay has over 15 credits, including films in both Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. He also appeared in advertisements and dubbed for actor Vidyut Jawmal's character in Vijay and AR Murugadoss's 2012 film Thuppakki.

Recently, he sought financial help for his health condition, and actor KPY Bala provided him with some monetary assistance. At the time, he disclosed that doctors told him that he would only live for another year and a half. "I do not know if I will be around for longer," he said in a recent video where he sought financial help. The video became viral and prompted many celebrities to help the actor financially, including his Thulluvadho Ilamai co-star Dhanush and KPY Bala.

According to reports, Dhanush and Bala gave him INR 5 lakh and 1 lakh, respectively. Also marking Dhanush's debut, Thulluvadho Ilamai stars Abhinay as Vishnu, a close friend of the former's character.
