Actor Gouri Kishan's comments, calling out a YouTuber who body-shamed her at a recent Others press meet, continue to cause quite an impact within and beyond the entertainment industry. Many celebrities, including Gouri's co-star in Others, Aditya Madhavan, have come out in support of the actor in the latest row. Meanwhile, after insisting on a non-apology in the issue for a while, YouTuber RS Karthik has finally apologised to Gouri for his comments. Offering a clarification through the channel Box of Tamil Talks, the reporter said that he has been feeling mental frustration over the last few days due to the controversy that followed his comments. The journalist added that Gouri understood his comments in a way that is different from what he intended. "I asked in one way, but she took it in a different way and labelled it a "stupid, insensible question". This is why I had to ask her the same question in the next press meet (for Others)," he said.
Despite offering an apology, the YouTuber claimed that he did not body-shame Gouri, arguing that he only meant to ask "a jolly question" as the hero lifted her in the film. "She understood it very wrongly. If she is hurt by it in any way, I would like to apologise for it," he said. Earlier, Gouri clarified in an official statement that she acted against the controversial comments to bring the broader implications of the issue to public notice and not to harass the person concerned. The YouTuber revealed that it was also not his intention to hurt Gouri Kishan and added that he wanted to settle the issue once and for all following the extensive support she has been receiving ever since he made the comments.
