Earlier, we reported that actor Gouri Kishan faced an inappropriate question that disgraced her physically and hurt her dignity during the promotions of her film Others. The actor responded strongly to the body-shaming remark, and since then, many public figures have expressed their support for her. In a scything comment, referring to the reporter adamantly sticking to his point of view despite Gouri calling him out, composer Santhosh Narayanan wrote, "The fact that this deplorable journalist feels entitled to double down on his already shameful remark is beyond shocking." The music director continued, "Glad to see the deserving backlash and we should remember that it is all these micro aggressions that lead to heinous crimes against women today."
He also gave a shout-out to Gouri Kishan for speaking out against the reporter, saying, "Bravo" and tagging the actor.
On the other hand, filmmaker Pa Ranjith also came out in support of Gouri. He took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Gouri Kishan, more power to you. I strongly condemn the reporter's actions; they are unacceptable and shameful. That female actors have to still face these indecent questions goes to show the distance Thamizh cinema has yet to go." Gouri reposted Ranjith and Santhosh's comments.
