Singer Jonita Gandhi, whose voice we recently heard in Dude's 'Kannukulla', is all set to play a cameo in Atharvaa's Idhayam Murali. In a recent interview with The Times of India, she confirmed the same while also expressing her happiness about the acting role.
She told the outlet, "It’s my first cameo in a film. I can’t reveal much about the character yet, but you will definitely see me in a new role. That is exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. Director Aakash Baskaran has been cooperative and understanding from the beginning."
Besides Atharvaaa, the film stars Kayadu, Thaman (in his first film role as an actor after Shankar's Boys), Natty, Preity Mukundhan, Pragya, Angeline, and Yashashree. The cast also includes Sudhakar and Dravid from the Parithabangal YouTube channel and content creator Niharika NM.
Behind the screen, the film is directed by Aakash Baskaran, with Senthilkumar Kesavan credited as a co-director. Aakash has written the dialogues with Dravid and Ramanagirivasan. Thaman has also composed the music, while Vivek has written the lyrics for the songs. Manoj Paramahamsa is the cinematographer for the film, with editing handled by Pradeep E Ragav.
Idhayam Murali is produced by Aakash Baskaran under his Dawn Pictures banner, which recently backed Idli Kadai and is also backing Parasakthi.
This year, Jonita also had other major milestones, one of which includes her collaboration with Ed Sheeran for the remix of his single, 'Heaven'. In terms of film songs, her voice was also featured in 'Preet Re' from Dhadak 2, 'Nadaaniyan – Title Track' from Nadaaniyan and 'Teri Chaahat' from Chhaava.
