As the Indian women's cricket team scripted history on Sunday night, lifting its maiden World Cup trophy, wishes have been pouring in from celebrities, politicians, and other notable personalities.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan wished the Women in Blue on the 'historic win' and that Arunraja Kamaraj manifested this moment in Kanaa seven years ago, his SK Productions' first production venture.

India, in the final match, was put to bat first after South Africa won the toss. Powered by the half centuries of Shafali Verma (87) and Deepti Sharma (58), India posted 298 in its 50-over quota. In return, South Africa was dismissed in 246 and lost with the margin of 52 runs.
