Awaiting the June 05 release of Thug Life, Mani Ratnam and Silambarasan TR are set to reunite for a love story, according to a report on Hindu Tamil. The film will also star Rukmini Vasanth, the report says. While Mani Ratnam denied the speculation during a recent interview, reportedly, the filmmaker will start working on the project immediately after Thug Life's release.

Besides Thug Life, Silambarasan has worked with Mani Ratnam on Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which too is a multistarrer. Reportedly, the next film will mark the actor's first collaboration with Mani Ratnam as a lead actor in a non-multistarrer. The makers are expected to make an announcement regarding the project soon.

Silmbarasan has three more projects at various stages of production: STR 49, STR 50, and STR 51. STR 49 brings the actor together with Parking fame director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, Dragon star Kayadu Lohar and Santhanam. The Desingh Periyasamy directorial STR 50 will star Silmbarasan as a transgender character and will feature music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who reunites with the actor after Maanaadu. On the other hand, STR 51 is a fantasy entertainer from Dragon filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu and will star the actor as the 'God of Love'.
