Actor Mugen Rao's long-delayed film Jinn – The Pet will finally see the light of the day on May 30. Ahead of its release, the makers announced that the film had obtained a U/A certificate from the CBFC.

The recently released trailer depicts Mugen as someone who is out of luck and approaches a black magician to revive his life with a lucky charm. The charm, which is expected to bring him glad tidings, does the opposite, as what he brought was a supernatural spirit jinn that has references in the Islamic holy book of the Quran. How Mugen manages to undo his wrongs and repel the Jinn before it causes more harm is what Jinn – The Pet is all about.

Written and directed by TR Bala, Jinn – The Pet also stars Bhavya Trikha, Balasaravanan, Imaan Annachi, Vadivukarasi, Vinodhini, George Vijay and Rithvik. The film’s technical crew includes DOP Arjun Raja, editor Deepak and music composer duo Vivek-Mervin.

The film will release in theatres alongside director Krishna Shankar's The Verdict, starring Suhasini Maniratnam and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in central roles.
