At today's Thug Life audio launch, Kamal Haasan gave a quirky response to a question about how he created the now-trending song 'Jinguchaa', featuring Sanya Malhotra in a special cameo appearance. "The music director asked for a song, and I gave one." Vaishali Samant, Shakthisree Gopalan and Adithya RK have provided vocals for the song, with lyrics by Kamal Haasan.

One of the event emcees then asked the Thug Life star how he came up with the "catchy word" Jinguchaa. In reply, Kamal said that composer AR Rahman wrote it, not him. Likening himself to an "old motorcycle", which needs an extra kick to start, Kamal said that he could always come up with lyrics only if his music director contributed the opening line of the song. "He did not take much time, gave it instantly," said Kamal about Rahman giving the first line of the song.

One of the emcees then pointed out the popularity of the song on social media and whether Kamal accounted for this during its creation. Rahman replied to the question, saying, "There was a different song in place before this. He (Kamal) okayed it. However, I said that this song would be better, showed him this tune with this catchy phrase and we agreed on it."

The lyricists for the film also include Karthik Netha, Shuba, and Siva Ananth. Kamal Haasan has also written the screenplay for Thug Life with its director Mani Ratnam. The film's makers also dropped the ‘Sugar Baby’ song the other day and the full album today.
