Revathy on boards Vijay's Jana Nayagan: Reports

We recently reported that actor-politician Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, has moved on to its next schedule in Kodaikanal.

The latest update from sources close to the makers reveals that actor Revathy has joined the star cast of the film and is expected to play Vijay's mother in the film. Revathi's previous collaboration with Vijay was in the 2002 film Thamizhan, where she played his sister.

Revathy's last Tamil film was a cameo appearance in Dhanush-starrer Thiruchitrambalam (2022).

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan began filming in October 2024. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju, and Narain. Apart from Anirudh Ravichander, the technical crew also comprises cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan and editor Pradeep E Ragav.

The makers are yet to reveal further details about the plot. However, the grapevine is that the film will have a political undercurrent to it. Jana Nayagan is produced by Venkat K Narayana and co-produced by Lohith N K and Jagadish Palanisamy. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, for the Pongal festival season.
