Music composer Sam CS has issued a statement in the wake of cheating allegations against him by a producer.

The composer said in the statement that the producer lodged a complaint with malicious intent to cause harm to his reputation. The producer alleged that the composer committed "fraud" by not honouring the commitment by finishing his film. The producer Salim Alikhan claimed that he gave Sam a remuneration of Rs 25 lakh and that the latter did not honour his commitment.

In response, Sam CS said that in 2020 he was approached by producer Salim Alikhan to compose music for his film Tamil Paiyan Hindi Ponnu. He added he lost touch with him for years and he suddenly turns up one day to ask him to begin composing music after informing him that the film's works are complete. When Sam said he was busy right now, the producer left, saying he would think about the future course of action and levelled fraud charges against him. In the statement, Sam said he would take legal remedies to fight the charges.

Making his debut as a composer in 2010's Orr Eravuu, Sam CS shot to fame with his score and songs for Pushkar-Gayathri's Vikram Vedha (2017). His upcoming releases include Vijay Sethupathi's Ace, releasing on May 23, Phoenix, Saloon and Retta Thala.
