After days of social media battles, Aarti Ravi-Ravi Mohan's separation has come to the court of law, as Aarti has sought an alimony of Rs 40 lakh from her estranged husband.

The proceedings, initiated by Ravi Mohan, in the Chennai Family Welfare Court have been held since September 2024.

The hearing was listed before the bench led by Judge Thenmozhi, Aarti sought an alimony of Rs 40 lakh per month from Ravi. The bench, after hearing her plea, posted the case for June 12, asking Ravi to file his response then.

Controversy around their separation erupted again after Ravi Mohan was spotted with his singer-friend Keneeshaa Francis at a wedding. This incident set off a 'statement war' between Aarti and Ravi, as the former launched salvos against her husband with oblique reference to the singer having come in the way of her marriage.

Aarti bared her fangs in response to the charges of being a "controlling wife" in a strongly worded statement on Tuesday. She reiterated it was not financial or any other reason that caused their separation but a "third person".
