TTD member serves defamation notice to DD Next Level makers for hurting Hindu sentiments

With just a few days to go for the release of Santhanam's DD Next Level, BJP member and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) member Bhanuprakash Reddy has served a defamation notice to actor Santhanam and Niharika Entertainments. In his notice, he demanded the makers to remove the song 'Kissa 47' for its usage of 'Srinivasa Govinda' chant that is used in the prayers of Lord Venkateshwara. Failing to do so, he asked the makers to furnish Rs 100 crore as a compensation.

Additionally, Janasena party in-charge Kiran Royal registered a complaint against the makers with the Tirupati One Town Police Station for allegedly offending Hindu sentiments. He noted that the song damages the reputation of the deity. Further, he met Tamil Nadu opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswamy, showed the song and urged him to take action about the issue.


However, in a recent press meet, Santhanam mentioned that he is a devotee of Lord Venkateswara and that the makers had no intention of bringing malign to the God or anyone.'Kissa 47', which was released a few weeks ago, is composed by ofRO with lyrics written by Kelithee.

Apart from Santhanam, DD Next Level also stars Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Geethika, Yashika Aannand, Maaran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Kasthuri Shankar, and Rajendran, among others.

DD Next Level will be released in theatres on May 16 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
