With 100 days to go for the release of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, the film's production banner, Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures released a part of a song offering glimpses at the film's characters. Rajinikanth's character is visible in the video, a shot quite similar to the iconic sun scene featuring the actor in Thalapathi. The rest of the cast is shown from the back. However, it is possible to make out that the other actors in the video are Satyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Upendra.

As reported earlier, the film stars Rajinikanth as Deva, Nagarjuna as Simon, Upendra as Kaleesha, Soubin Shahir as Dayal, and Sathyaraj as Rajasekar in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. The cast also has Shruti Haasan in the role of Preethi. Set to release on August 14, the film also stars Pooja Hegde and Aamir Khan in cameo roles.

Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan have written the dialogues for the film, with Chandhru credited for additional screenplay. The film's technical team includes composer Anirudh, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Philomin Raj, and stunt choreographers Anbariv.

Coolie is scheduled to release on August 14 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
