John Mahendran: Vijay is elated with Sachein re-release reception

Actor Vijay's breezy romantic comedy Sachein (2005), was re-released recently amidst fanfare. Some of the audience relived their nostalgic past, while others who watched the film on television took to the theatres for the big-screen experience.

The film's director John Mahendran shared a recent click with Vijay and wrote a post about the latter's reaction to the overwhelming positive response to the film. The filmmaker wrote that Vijay is immensely happy with fans celebrating Sachein even after 20 years. He added that in their conversation, Vijay kept thanking God for the love he keeps getting from fans.

The film that stars Genelia in the female lead, has Vadivelu, Santhanam, and late actor Raghuvaran in the star cast. Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu made her Tamil debut with Sachein.

The score and soundtrack of Sachein, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, earned widespread acclaim and all of the songs were chartbusters. Jeeva and VT Vijayan handled the cinematography and editing respectively. Sachein was produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his banner V Creations.
