Days after the trailer of debut director Jayalakshmi's En Kadhale was unveiled, the makers shared an update about the film's release.

Accordingly, the film will be released in theatres in Tamil Nadu on May 9.

The recently released trailer depicted a complex triangular relationship between the major leads Lingesh, Liya and Divya. The story of the film follows a man (Lingesh) from a fishermen hamlet falling in love with a tourist (Liya) who is in Tamil Nadu to make a documentary film. Trouble erupts as his new relationship forces him to wash his hands of the engagement with his relative (Divya). How he resolves the mess is what the film is about.

The star cast is rounded out with debutant Katpadi Rajan, who plays the antagonist, Madhusudhanan, Maaran, Sitha Dharshan, and Senthamizh.

Lingesh has acted in supporting roles in Kabali and Pariyerum Perumal and played the lead in College Road. The film, produced by Jayalakshmi's Sky Wanders Entertainment, has a technical crew of cinematographer Dony Raj, music composer Sandy Santello, and editor Gopikrishna.
