The makers of director Mu Maran's Blackmail dropped the first look, featuring a puzzled and an anxious GV Prakash.

The first look, released on Saturday, suggests that the film will explore crime of passion and the money involved in it. Produced by A Deivakani and Jayakodi Amalraj under the JDS Film Factory, Blackmail promises to be a gripping thriller that will have "unexpected twists and turns." It stars Teju Ashwini in the female lead. Srikanth, Bindu Madhavi, Vettai Muthukumar, Redin Kingsley, Ramesh Thilak, Hari Priya, and other notable actors play key roles in the film.

The filmmaker said, "We are happy that the film is progressing at the right pace as planned. We have already completed shooting the film, and the postproduction work is briskly nearing completion. GV Prakash Kumar, despite his busy schedules as an actor and music director, has shown complete cooperation for this film. He has started dubbing his portions, and we will be soon wrapping up the entire process."

The technical team of Blackmail includes composer, D Imman, editor San Lokesh, and cinematographer Gokul Benoy, known for his work on the recent Jiiva starrer Black.

GV Prakash was last seen in Kingston, his 25th feature film, which released on March 7.
