Bhavana is making a comeback to Tamil cinema, 15 years after her work with Ajith on Aasal, with a horror film titled The Door. On Monday, the film's makers dropped a trailer which carries its release date. The film is slated for a March 28 release in theatres. Written and directed by Bhavana's brother Jaiiddev, The Door also stars Ganesh Venkatraman and Jayaprakash in key roles. The cast also includes Sriranjini, Malayalam actor Nandhu, Kapil Velavan, Priya Venkat, Ramesh Arumugam, Sindhoori, and Sangeetha.

The film, produced by Bhavana's husband Naveen Rajan under the June Dreams Studios banner, has cinematographer Gautham G, composer Varun Unni, and editor Athul Vijay. The Door is also set to release with dubs in Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu.

The makers are yet to announce full plot details. Producer Naveen revealed in an X post that Ganesh plays the lead of a team of crime investigators in the film. Judging by the trailer, the film has elements of horror, real estate and religion, and Bhavana seems to be playing a woman in trouble.

Interestingly, Bhavana was last seen in a Malayalam horror film, titled Hunt. Her upcoming projects also include the Kannada films Pink Note and Uttarakaanda. In Pink Note, a long-gestated film, she plays twins.
