Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran clears censorship formalities

Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the action thriller also stars SJ Suryah and Dushara Vijayan in key roles

With just five days to go for the release of Vikram's much-anticipated Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, the makers have announced that the film has cleared censorship formalities and has received a U/A certificate from the CBFC.

Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the action thriller also stars SJ Suryah and Dushara Vijayan in key roles. The film also marks the Tamil debut of popular Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu.

The film's trailer was released a few days back which gave a glimpse of the film's setting and Vikram's Kaali character. In the nearly two-minute-long trailer, SJ Suryah's character as Arunagiri IPS was trying to hunt down a gang that's connected to a violent incident. Set amidst a backdrop of a village festival, the team of police officers aim to capture the gang before dawn. Vikram plays a fierce individual who ruthlessly kills people. However, his character is shrouded in mystery as he seems to hold a past that haunts him till date.

With the second part of the film scheduled to release before the first, it remains to be seen what Kaali's actions are and how they are connected to his past as much of the plot and the characters' motives remain undisclosed.

Veera Dheera Sooran is the 62nd film in Vikram's career. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Theni Eswar, editing by Prasanna GK, stunt choreography by Phoenix Prabu, and art direction by CS Balachandar. It is produced by Riya Shibu under the banner HR Pictures and the film slated to hit theatres on March 27.
