Music composer-actor GV Prakash has dropped yet another update about Vetrimaaran-Suriya's first collaboration, Vaadivaasal, on Wednesday.

Prakash, on his X handle, announced that the song recording work for the film has begun today. This development comes as a follow-up to his recent update saying that the composition work has commenced.

The film, which was announced back in 2020 and the title unveil in 2021, faced numerous production delays owing to the director and actor's commitments and the COVID pandemic. However, in January this year, the film's producer Kalaipuli S Thanu shared a photo with director Vetrimaaran and Suriya announcing the beginning of work on Vaadivaasal.

Vaadivaasal is based on the Tamil novel of the same name written by CS Chellappa. Vetrimaaran had notably acquired the rights for adapting the novel as early as 2017. The makers are yet to announce when the film will go on floors. Details on additional cast members remain undisclosed. The film is bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations banner.

Meanwhile, Suriya was last seen in director Siva's epic fantasy action film Kanguva. Up next, he has Retro, directed by Kartik Subbaraj, awaiting release. He also has Suriya 45 with RJ Balaji, which is currently filming. Meanwhile, Vetrimaaran last directed Viduthalai Part 2 with Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier in the lead. He is also directing Dhanush once again in an untitled film backed by RS Infotainment, which bankrolled the Viduthalai films.
