Earlier, we reported about music director AR Rahman getting hospitalised following chest pain and undergoing a medical checkup. After his son Ameen confirmed that Rahman is doing fine, Saira Bhanu made a statement where she wished her composer spouse "a speedy recovery." In the statement, she revealed that Rahman underwent an angiography procedure and that he is "doing well now."

Saira Bhanu added that she is "only separated" from Rahman and is "not divorced," hence she politely asked the media to not address her as his former spouse. "My prayers are always with him," she said.

The latest statement comes in the wake of Saira Bhanu's recent remarks in a voice clip, where she described Rahman as a "gem of a person" and "the best man in the world" and requested the media to not paint him in bad light. " I've been physically unwell for the last couple of months. So that's the reason I just wanted to take a break from AR," she said at the time. News about the couple's separation came late last year. In a statement she made through her legal representative, Vandana Shah, Saira said that she "made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr AR Rahman" following "significant emotional strain in their relationship."

The couple tied the knot in 1995 and have three children: Raheema, Ameen, and Khatija.

On the work front, Rahman's upcoming projects include Thug Life, Lahore 1947, and Tere Ishk Mein.
