Ashwath Marimuthu shares update about STR 51

The film opened to generally positive reviews upon its release on February 21

After the resounding success of Dragon, director Ashwath Marimuthu is expected to start working on his next big project with Silambarasan TR, tentatively titled STR 51.

In a recently held cinema event, the director said that he will begin the preparation work for the film by this month end and that the story and the treatment for it have been finalised. Regarding the commencement of shoot, he said he is unsure if they will go on floors this August or September, but they are planning for a 2026 summer release.

Providing more details about what kind of film STR 51 will have, he said it will have what his previous films Oh My Kadavule and Dragon had and also things that people love to see in an STR film.

Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, Kayadu Lohar, Anupama Parameswaran, Mysskin, VJ Siddhu, and Harshath Khan, crossed Rs 100 crore in the global box office.
