The trailer of the upcoming independent feature Maayakoothu has been released by the makers, and going by its visuals, the film promises to be an interesting blend of both the fictional and real world. The film, a joint production by Rahul Movie Makers (Rahul Deva) and Abhimanyu Creations (Prasad Ramachandran), marks the directorial debut of AR Raghavendra. Maayakoothu's story has been written by AR Raghavendra along with M Srinivasan and is slated for release in theatres on July 11.

Actor Nagarajan takes on the lead role in the film who is determined in his pursuit to write stories, but is often discouraged. In an interesting twist of events, his life his entangled in a web of incidents. Multiple worlds collide

The cast also includes the late Delhi Ganesh, M Ramasamy, and Sai Dheena. Emerging talents including Pragadeeswaran, Murugan, Aishwarya, Gayathri, and Rekha are part of the film too.

Behind the camera, Maayakoothu boasts Nagooran Ramachandran, recognised for his editing contributions to films like Captain Miller, Saani Kaayidham, and Don is responsible for the film's post-production. Sundar Ram Krishnan, known for his visual work in Kayamai Kadakka, Super Duper, and Neetho, is handling the cinematography. Anjana Rajagopalan is composing the film's soundtrack and background score. The lyrics are a collaboration between Nagarajan and Kaber Vasuki.
