Delhi Ganesh's Maayakoothu gears up for release

Nagarajan takes on the lead role in the film, also starring M Ramasamy and Sai Dheena

An independent feature film titled Maayakoothu is poised for release, promising a blend of fantasy elements with a narrative that delves into the responsibilities of creators within society. The film, a joint production by Rahul Movie Makers (Rahul Deva) and Abhimanyu Creations (Prasad Ramachandran), marks the directorial debut of AR Raghavendra.

Raghavendra, who brings over a decade of experience from short filmmaking and previous work under acclaimed director Bramma, has also penned the script for Maayakoothu. His previous work as a story writer for Udanpaal garnered attention, having been screened at several film festivals.

Actor Nagarajan takes on the lead role in the film. The cast also includes the late Delhi Ganesh, M Ramasamy, and Sai Dheena. Emerging talents including Pragadeeswaran, Murugan, Aishwarya, Gayathri, and Rekha are part of the film too.

Behind the camera, Maayakoothu boasts Nagooran Ramachandran, recognised for his editing contributions to films like Captain Miller, Saani Kaayidham, and Don is responsible for the film's post-production. Sundar Ram Krishnan, known for his visual work in Kayamai Kadakka, Super Duper, and Neetho, is handling the cinematography. Anjana Rajagopalan is composing the film's soundtrack and background score. The lyrics are a collaboration between Nagarajan and Kaber Vasuki.

Maayakoothu is currently in its final stages of production, with release plans expected to be announced soon. With the film, the makers aim to offer an evocative and provocative cinematic experience.
